Boost your routine

I mean how much do you love that we have Micellar Water in our lives now! I know I do, no more scrubbing half your face off with a makeup wipe at the end of a long day.

I’m still trying to work out how exactly it lifts the days makeup and grime from the day but I’m sure there’s a bit of magic involved.

No seriously if you’ve found a simple way to explain it let me know!

Anyway as you might have guessed today’s post is all about a new front runner in the Micellar Water category, Water Boost Micellar Water from Simple.

Unlike some other Micellar Waters this one is made with a natural plant extract and minerals to ensure kindness to your skin, and as it’s part of the Water Boost range from Simple, so you know it will leave your skin hydrated too.

After using the Micellar Water for a few weeks I definitely found it was kind to my skin and left it soft afterwards. However, I didn’t find it to be as magical as my favourite (Garnier Micellar Water) in removing my more stubborn makeup like mascara.

Unfortunately I did have to use quite a lot and hold it on my eye for longer, which isn’t the end of the world just not what I was used to. I’m assuming this was down to the ingredients being kinder to your skin and maybe working slowly but I could be wrong!

Overall, I did really like this product it does do what you’d expect and leaves your skin soft and refreshed afterwards, though it did struggle with removing mascara and heavier eyeshadow (think out out makeup) so I think I would only choose this one over my favourite if my skin was feeling particularly sensitive.

Would love to know if you’ve tried Simple’s Water Boost Micellar Water and had the same results!

Primark Beauty

When it comes to everyday makeup of course it’s lovely to be able to use high-end brands for a bit of everyday luxury but sometimes all you need is a £4 palette from Primark, or Pri-marni as we like to call it!

To be honest the beauty section in my local Primark Lakeside has grown enormously in the past year or so, providing numerous brushes, palettes, lipstick’s, nail varnish and even faux eyelashes (that my sister swears by). Now they’ve even expanded their facemask range, which is definitely next on my list to try out.

Along with the huge beauty product choice, they also have various accessories to compliment and enhance the range. Who doesn’t love a cute new makeup bag, one that hasn’t lost it’s original colour to a nice tan brown from a mixture of foundation and bronzer that’s leaked all over the place.

This gorgeous nude pink and copper bag was today’s choice, I’m a lover of a dusky pink or nude, teamed with the on trend copper (or rose gold if you want to poshen it up) this little beauty is literally perfect. What’s even better about this bag? It’s huge! Plenty of room to fit your moisturiser through to complete makeup kit and who knows even your fixing spray. With two separated compartments you could even organise your makeup inside, think I’m going for prep and face products in one section and eyes and brows in the other but to be honest even considering the size I’m not sure it would all fit!

The two sections are beautifully separated by two chunky rose gold zips (because we want to poshen it up) with little faux leather handles for ease of opening finally a simple handle on top to carry. So when your bestie says “come get ready at mine” chuck it all in and your away!

My second purchase was this little eye shadow palette, I was drawn in by the current trend in the reds and oranges for eye makeup as well as the complimenting light colours, perfect for the inner creases. I was quite impressed with the packaging of his palette too a simple flip top design with a slight magnetic to keep it closed. The name MASTER EYE PALETTE teamed with the gold text on the clear top casing this adds a touch of trust that the shadows inside are going to be good.

After having a little play with swatches I was quite impressed with how pigmented the colours are, I’m loving the cherry shades too. All so bright and vibrant, will be a perfect compliment to the autumn weather now on its way in full force, of course teamed with a little highlight on the brow bone. I’ve not had a chance to have a play with layering these up yet however can already see how nicely they are going to work together, so many possibilities!

To be completely honest this is the first time at giving something a go from the Primark beauty range, I mean it’s not going to replace my beloved Urban Decay Naked palettes, but I’m very impressed, just goes to show you don’t always need to break the bank.

The Little Ledge

It’s the little things in life that make a difference right, a simple smile, someone spelling your name right or even bagging a bargain!

For me it’s the same thing with my room, having recently decorated my tiny room it was finally time for the exciting part – the little extra’s!

Don’t get me wrong I loved picking out my gorgeous textured wallpaper (that my sister now uses as a selfie backdrop) along with its matching paint, and building a beautiful spacious wardrobe (with some much-needed help from my boyfriend of course), but now is really the good bit.

The main part that has brought the room together is something so little, the brilliant little IKEA ledges. Call them a mini shelf if you like but they are simply perfect, I believe they come in both black and white along with two different sizes, 55mm and 115mm so perfect for somewhere to stylishly put up all your little bits and pieces.

The reason I love these so much is not only are they less invasive on the room as they are only 12mm wide, but the flexibility you have with what you can display, I can change how they look every month if I wanted to! A perfect little platform for your photo frames, prints, candles, plants, mirrors or any form of little pretty nic nac’s that you have to make your room your’s. (yes, that is a cork you can see)

I’m loving my layout of frames and nic nac’s at the moment, but before you ask, yes I’m working on getting some pictures taken to go in them!
